The Last Poem

14 Apr

When I will be gone,
shut the world from me and trap the laughter or even the tears I left upon your wrinkled faces-
for you’ll be needing it for many a day,
long after I cease to be with you…
When I will be gone,
bury me at sunset when the transient birds are going home and the faded sky is chasing the old horizons-
for my life was just but a momentary pleasure to realize my dreams…
When I will be gone,
pull over the clouds and kiss away my memories;
letting it go blue-
alone and lonely like it were at the slow beginning of time,
when you placidly walked on with me…
When I will be gone,
trace my footprints printed so conspicuously on the sands of time,
for you’ll find in them stories-
long stories of love, heartbreaks, struggles, false hopes and deferred dreams;
stories- that will write the last letter of my life…
